- 2011 Recipients
The VESA Scholarship Committee is happy to announce the recipients of the 2011 VESA Scholarships. This year we are awarding 3 scholarships for $1000 each.
The recipients are:
- Sana Hidayat, JEB Stuart High School, Fairfax County
- Phuong Linh Mai, Freedom High School, Loudoun County
- Tien Trinh, Annanadale High School, Fairfax County
Congratulations to each. They and their school contact person will be receiving letters soon with further information.
- General Information
This is the 9th year that VESA will offer scholarships.
Scholarships will be awarded to LEP students who are planning to continue their studies at an institute of higher learning.
ESL Teachers are encouraged to assist LEP students in gathering the required documents for the application.
All sections of the application must be complete for consideration.
Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Students must also have been enrolled in an ESL class at some point during their high school career.

The deadline for submitting a 2010 VESA Scholarship Application was Friday, April 1, 2011.
Due to the large number of applications submitted in the past, the committee will not be able to follow-up on applications that are missing information.
The committee hopes to announce scholarship winners by April 15, 2011.
