VESA Travel Grants

VESA Scholarship Information
We are proud to announce the following recipients of the 2009 VESA Scholarship:
Amanda Moreno Bonilla, Wakefield High School, Arlington
Ana Julia Hernandez-Portillo, Mount Vernon High School, Alexandria
Sidra Kalsoom, JEB Stuart High School, Falls Church
Yonathan Kassaye, T.C. Williams High School, Alexandria
Fu Qing Li, Stonewall Jackson High School, Manassas
Marco Segura, Robinson Secondary School, Fairfax
Ana Vasquez, Oakton High School, Vienna
This is the 8th year that VESA will offer seven (7) scholarships.
Each scholarship will be $1500.
Scholarships will be awarded to LEP students who are planning to continue their studies at an institute of higher learning.
ESL Teachers are encouraged to assist LEP students in gathering the required documents for the application.
All sections of the application must be complete for consideration.
Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
Students must also have been enrolled in an ESL class at some point during their high school career.
The deadline for submitting a 2009 VESA Scholarship Application was April 20, 2009.
Due to the large number of applications submitted last year, the committee will not be able to follow-up on applications that are missing information.
We are no longer accepting Scholarship Applications.
